SCIDS Breeder formulas was developed as a 10 times lower dosage option, to effectively eliminate PCC in immunocompromised rodents, and eliminate the effects on breeding due to hypothyroidism that was observed in animals receiving the standard higher SCIDS standard dosage. Trimethoprim and Sulfamethoxazole are efficaciously dosed in a highly palatable tablet with a high acceptance by rodents for ease of dosing a large number of rodents over a period of time while saving labor costs than more traditional dosing methods. Additionally, the diet can be fed as a prophylaxis to other immunocompromised rodent models.

  • An effective method to reduce the hazards of respiratory problems in immunocompromised mice
  • Highly palatable, nutritionally complete, grain-based, bacon flavored tablets
  • Easy to administer: Place on cage floor or food hopper for easy access
  • Each 5 gram bacon-flavored tablet contains: 6 mg Sulfamethoxazole and 1.2 mg Trimethoprim
  • Mouse Average Daily Dose: One 5 gram Tablet/Mouse per day meets both the daily nutritional and medication needs of mice
  • Rat Average Daily Dose: One 5 gram Tablet/Rat per day provides daily medication needs and is a dietary supplement to standard feed
  • More convenient and less risk of dehydration compared to using medicated water
  • Cold tableting process eliminates drug degradation
  • Gamma Irradiated
  • Nutritionally Assayed
