Caspase-６——神经退行性疾病治疗的潜在靶点 Ac-VEID-AFC

Caspase-６是半胱氨酸蛋白酶家族（caspase）中的一员。在细胞程序性死亡（PCD）中，它是重要的执行者。多项研究结果（如近期 Graham 等发表在 Trends in Neurosciences）证明，Caspase-６在亨廷顿舞蹈症（Huntington’s Disease, HD）、阿尔茨海默氏病、老龄化、中风等神经退行性疾病病理过程中起重要作用。caspase-６介导神经退行性疾病的作用机制还不清楚，但相关证据表明 caspase-6 被活化后，可对特定 caspase-６底物蛋白（如亨廷素、淀粉样前体蛋白（APP）、Tau、CBP/p300、NF-kB及Caspase-８）进行切割。抑制 caspase-６的活性将成为神经退行性疾病治疗的新靶点。
